The Story Behind Our Logo

Logo for Te Wairoa Medical Centre

Pātiki (flounder pattern) represents abundance — the richness of wellbeing, understanding, and care. The Pātiki form also symbolises nurturing, drawing from the imagery of a mother bird feeding her young.

Niho (tooth design) signifies consumption and understanding — the process of learning, receiving, and applying knowledge. Manaaki embodies care and support for one another.

The colour palette draws from pounamu (greenstone), a taonga that symbolises life and hauora (health). Just as pounamu is treasured and cared for, so too should we honour and elevate our health, mind, and wellbeing.
